Accessibility Statement for the Elektrum Drive Mobile Application

Published: 26.06.2025 (Initial Assessment)

As a company that follows responsible, ethical, and sustainable business practices, AS "Latvenergo" (Elektrum Drive) not only respects diversity but also supports and promotes it. Therefore, we are committed to making our digital resources accessible to every user.

This accessibility statement applies to the Elektrum Drive mobile application (available on Google Play and the App Store). The app has undergone an accessibility assessment through both automated and manual testing, following accessibility best practices as defined by:

  1. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines ((WCAG) 2.1, Level AA);
  2. The “Guidelines for Assessing Compliance with "Accessibility Requirements for Public Institution Websites and Justifying Disproportionate Burden” prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM), which involve evaluation of 11 key accessibility aspects.

The assessment focused on five of the most frequently used views within the app, developed as native views representing the overall app experience.

Document confirming the evaluation:
Simplified Accessibility Evaluation Protocol for the Elektrum Drive Mobile Application.
The app was last assessed on 19.06.2025.

How accessible is this mobile application?

The evaluation results show that the Elektrum Drive mobile application partially complies with accessibility guidelines.

Identified issues:

  • Text cannot be resized without loss of content or functionality, affecting users who need larger text.
  • Insufficient contrast between text, non-text elements, and background, which reduces readability for users with visual impairments.
  • Inconsistently defined names, roles, and values for user interface components.
  • Poor visibility of keyboard focus, hindering navigation and interaction for keyboard users.
  • Primary language is not declared, leading to incorrect pronunciation by screen readers and misunderstandings for users relying on assistive technologies.
  • Content does not reflow into a single column without horizontal scrolling when zoomed in, making it difficult for users with low vision.
  • Text spacing adjustments can result in missing content or functionality.
  • Orientation changes are not supported without loss of content or functionality, which can hinder users who switch device orientation or rely on assistive technologies in different modes.
