Can and how can the service be used by a company that operates on leased premises and to whom the electricity purchase agreement has been signed by the home owner? The owner of the rental space is not a small business.
All micro and small businesses have the right to consume the universal service. Even if the electricity contract has been concluded by the owner of the rental premises, the micro and small business has the right to purchase a universal service. If this is desired, the electricity seller should be approached together with the house owner and prove that the end user is a micro or small business.
Who can start using the universal service for business customers?
The following can start using the universal service:
- micro-entrepreneurs, i.e. companies that employ less than 10 people and whose annual turnover or annual balance sheet does not exceed two million euros,
- small businesses, i.e. companies with fewer than 50 employees and whose annual turnover or annual balance sheet volume does not exceed 10 million euros,
- self-employed persons with consumption up to 1 GWh per year,
- foundations with consumption up to 1 GWh per year,
- non-profit organizations with consumption up to 1 GWh per year.

How long is the universal service for micro and small businesses valid for?
For micro and small companies, the universal service is valid from November 1 until the end of 2023.
